FALCONRY EXPERIENCES:
• How and when do I pay? We do not collect payment upon booking, so you will pay in person when you arrive. Payment can be made with cash or Zelle (although cell service is limited at the park, so cash is strongly preferred. Cards/venmo are not accepted.
• Are there age limitations? No, all ages are welcome! Generally, kids under 4 are too small to actually hold the birds, but they can meet them up close, pet them etc.
• What is your cancellation policy? Since we don't require payment upon booking we expect that you will be there to meet us at the time of your booking. If you need to cancel PLEASE email at least a week in advance to notify us. We are a small business, so just not showing up for your session really hurts!
• What if its raining? We will hold the session unless it is actively raining. Given how unpredictable the weather is here, we will make the call the night before or day-of and notify you.
• What if I just want to observe and not participate? We don't differentiate in price between observers and participants, so all attendees are counted. Unless a child or impaired person requires a driver/chaperone who does not wish to participate, in which case we will of course make an exception.
• How many people can I bring? You can bring any number of people to your Private Experience, and we don't require advance notice if additional people are added. The base price ($400) covers up to 4 people. Any additional people are $50 each (ex: 5 people is $450, 6 people is $500, 8 people is $600, etc). For the Group Experiences, you must reserve a ticket for each person. Group size is limited so you cannot just show up with additional people who don't have tickets.
• What if I have less than 4 people? Four people are not required for a Private Falconry experience. The base price of $400 is our minimum and covers up to 4 people, meaning 1 or 2 or 3 people is still $400. If you are only one person you can purchase a single ticket for our Group Falconry session, which is only $100 per ticket.
• What if I want to buy a gift certificate for more than 4 people? If you buy a $400 gift certificate for a Private experience, it covers up to 4 people. If you wish to have more people come then you can either contact us and send the additional amount via Zelle, or you can bring the remaining balance day-of.
• How does someone redeem a gift certificate? To redeem a gift certificate, the recipient will simply book online like anyone else. Payment is not required to make a booking, so they will just bring the certificate day-of and hand it to the falconer.
• Are there specific clothing/jewelry/perfume limitations? No. Aside from wearing fur (which we don't want the birds to mistake for a yummy snack) you are free to wear anything you'd like. Trust me, these birds have seen it all...
• Where are the falconry experiences held? We will provide detailed instructions/directions after you book, but our locations are within a 10 minute drive of Dodger Stadium in central Los Angeles.
• Are the birds dangerous or scary? Absolutely not. They are specifically trained from day one around people, and we only bring birds that we completely trust to the demonstrations. You have nothing to worry about. That said, there is always risk involved with working with any animal, no matter how well trained, so you will be required to read and accept our liability waiver.
• What species will I meet? You will meet a hawk and an owl. We cannot guarantee which species or individual birds you will meet, because each day is different and sometimes certain birds need to day off. The hawk will be a Harris hawk, and the owl will be either a barn owl or an eagle owl.
• What if I only want to meet the owl? We don't offer this option at this time. Just sign up for the Private experience and tell us if you're most excited to meet the owl and we'll spend more time with them. But you'll still meet all the birds.
• Can you bring your birds to a different location? Yes we can bring them anywhere! To arrange a private/custom visit please email us and we will provide rates and date options based on your location.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING:
• Can our models/talent hold the birds? Yes absolutely. The birds can be handled and flown on set. A glove is generally required (which we provide), but your talent can definitely hold, release, fly, and call the birds back to them.
• What kind of shots are feasible? We will work to get any shots you need. But the basic actions the birds can do are: stand on a perch/tree/ground/car/any surface, land and stand on a person's arm, fly to and from a given location on command, fly overhead, spread their wings. They are also laser pointer trained, meaning we can get them to fly wherever we want on command.
• Can the birds pick something up and fly off with it? This can be surprisingly tricky, but we have ways to achieve this shot if you require it.
• Where can the birds fly? We can bring the birds to almost any location.
• Do you have a large location where we can shoot? Yes, you are welcome to come shoot on our ranch, which has sweeping views of the mountains, downtown Los Angeles skyline, open fields, trees, epic sunset views, and more.
• What kind of birds/animals are available? We have hawks, falcons, owls, chickens, mini ponies, horses, goats, and dogs that can all be used in productions.
